Father’s Day 2019

Father’s Day is a time to show love and appreciation for all the amazing men we call Dad. I think most would agree that every day is a good day to show our dad’s how much they mean to us. Father’s come in all shapes, sizes, and relationships. Some are biological, while others stand in and take that role.

On July 19, 1910, the governor of the U.S. state of Washington proclaimed the nation’s first “Father’s Day.” However, it was not until 1972, 58 years after President Woodrow Wilson made Mother’s Day official, that the day became a nationwide holiday in the United States.

It took a while for Father’s Day to get traction as many did not see the viability in for commercial reasons. Regardless of the origins or intent to have a Father’s Day or Mother’s Day as designated holiday, acknowledging what our parents have done and do for us is a great idea. Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs in the world. It’s a lifetime commitment of love and support and that is 24/7 every day. Besides showing your dad a lot of love this Father’s Day – the next big question is what to get your dad? Some great thoughts and ideas just came out on this article on Business Insider:

Admit it: Your dad is Superman. He may be the family handyman, chef, chauffeur, and unofficial bug-killer.   He does a lot for you, so why not tell him how much you appreciate it? Father’s Day falls on June 21st this year, and it’s never too early or too late to start planning for dad’s special day. Whether he’s into beer, golf, traveling, or movies, we’ve got you covered.

What better gift to your dad than helping feel his best? SottoPelle® celebrates all the great Dad’s out there, and wish you an amazing day!

The Truth About BHRT… It’s Amazing What Those Pellets Do

bhrt pelletsHave you heard about bio identical hormone replacement with pellet therapy? Maybe you’ve heard things, but you’re not sure what to believe. Here are the basics about BHRT…
Bio identical hormone replacement is an effective treatment for many symptoms associated with menopause and andropause (male menopause).

When hormone levels in our blood drop, many unpleasant side effects can occur, such as hot flashes, night sweats, loss of libido, depression, anxiety, loss of muscle mass and more. It can also affect the health of our cardiovascular system, bones, and skin. Bringing hormone levels up via BHRT can make you feel better and stay healthier as you age.

Just ask SottoPelle® patients, and they will tell you…Pellet therapy is the best delivery method for hormone replacement.

Some doctors prescribe synthetic hormones via pills, creams or patches. Not only are these hormones biologically different from the ones our body naturally produces, their delivery method can cause hormone levels to fluctuate greatly, creating the yo-yo effect, commonly referred to as the “hormone roller coaster”. With bio identical HRT using pellet therapy, the hormones that are used are biologically identical to the ones the human body produces, so they are metabolized in the same fashion. The body absorbs hormone pellets slowly over a period of months, delivering a consistent, physiologic dose of hormone. No yo-yos or roller coasters to be found.

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is safe.

For many women who experience moderate to severe symptoms of menopause, doctors and healthcare professionals agree that hormone replacement therapy using bio identical hormones is a safe and effective way to address many of these symptoms (including hot flashes, trouble sleeping, irritability, low libido, lack of energy and brain fog…just to name a few).

Considering HRT…You’ve come to the right place!

We all want to live our best lives possible, and maintaining our overall health as we age often depends on many different factors including our lifestyle, activity level and genetics. What many don’t know is that declining hormone levels can also have an impact on overall health, thus having an understanding of what your levels are is paramount. At SottoPelle®, we recognize an important fact that others often miss— one size truly does not fit all. Our patients have specific lab work performed allowing our providers to identify hormone imbalances that are present. Based on these lab results, our providers are then able to prescribe individualized dosing to address the specific needs of each patient.

Menopause and Andropause how imbalance hormones affect you

Mid-life crisis as well as other noted psychological and emotional variations will also be noticed among both sexes as well. Just as in puberty when your hormones were on a rollercoaster, you may feel like you have returned to that crazy ride during menopause and andropause. Both medical phases of life have certain treatments that are available, effective, and that are medically recognized to improve quality of life. One of the most common treatment paths for both conditions is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). For both men and women this method will help to bring the hormone levels back to the proper levels. Managing the source of the problem delivers great relief in experienced symptoms. It is important that a patient is carefully monitored by a doctor while they are undergoing BHRT treatment. The doctor should be experienced, trained, and empathize with what the patient is going through. Make sure your doctor is not just treating symptoms, but the hormonal imbalance that both sexes have in middle age.

Educate yourself, men and women can learn a lot if they research the different things that can be expected when experiencing these conditions. If you opt for BHRT make sure you receive quality care and pellets from a verified SottoPelle physician. Not all BHRT pellet treatment is created equally. But, when it comes to aging both men and women have equal issues and can be improved with the appropriate treatment and healthy lifestyle.

Why Go the Route of Pellets for HRT?

When there are so many options available for hormone replacement, why is bio identical hormone replacement with pellet therapy the best choice?
Why not just get prescription for a pill, cream or patch full of a synthetic hormone substitute?

We can’t wait to tell you.

Pellet therapy is the most natural form of hormone replacement available.

We can’t turn back the clock and make your ovaries produce more estrogen or your adrenal glands (or testicles) generate more testosterone. However, a bio identical pellet the size of a grain of rice placed in the fatty tissue under the skin is the next best thing.

Natural hormone production is a precarious balancing act, and therefore so is hormone replacement. Other methods can end up delivering a roller coaster ride of hormones as the dose in your bloodstream rises and falls. By contrast, bio identical hormone pellets gently dissolve over time, delivering a steady, consistent dose of hormone that keeps you balanced the same way your body would.

The hormones used in pellet therapy are also molecularly identical to the hormones produced by the human body. That’s not true of their synthetic counterparts.

Pellet therapy allows for customized dosages.

Remember the steady, consistent stream of hormones delivered into your bloodstream by pellet therapy? Imagine those pellets could also be perfectly customized to your body and your specific needs? They can!

Unlike pre-packaged synthetic hormones, bio identical hormone replacement with pellets is compounded specifically for each patient. Which hormones you get and how much of them depend on your unique hormone profile, not what’s available on the shelf.

Pellet therapy is safe.

More and more research is confirming the safety and health-enhancing benefits of hormone replacement with pellet therapy, including improved bone density and cardiovascular health as well as relief from the symptoms of menopause and andropause.

Because it bypasses the liver, the pellet delivery system does not raise glucose or lipid levels, increase blood pressure, or raise the risk of blood clots or liver damage.

Pellets do not increase the risk of breast cancer like the synthetic, chemical progestin’s that were used during the Women’s Health Initiative trial. They do not have the same risk of breast cancer as high doses of oral estrogens like Premarin. In fact, research suggests that balanced hormones are actually breast protective.

You can read more scientific documentation about the safety and efficacy of pellet therapy here.

Last, but not least: pellet therapy is convenient.

Pellet therapy for the patient consists of a quick trip to the doctor every 3 to 5 months for women and every 5 to 6 months for men. The pellets are inserted under the skin during a simple, in-office procedure. No prescriptions to fill. No creams, patches or pills to mess with. We will want to test your hormone levels to ensure your dosage is optimized, but other than that, you can pellet and forget it!

Gentlemen? Can We Talk? Bio-identical Hormones

You think you are just getting old, don’t you?
I’m getting older, you think. That’s why I’m putting on weight. That’s why I’m feeling more irritable. (Dang kids, get off my lawn!)

That’s why it’s harder to get and maintain an erection, and why my libido is down, and I’m tired.

When you get old, you lose your mojo.

Well, I’m here to tell you that maybe it’s not your age.

Maybe it’s your hormones.

The symptoms listed above along with others such as depression, gynecomastia (male breasts), loss of muscle mass, hot flashes, night sweats and hair loss could be caused by male hormone imbalance.

And that’s something you can do something about, unlike your D.O.B.

As we age, our testosterone levels naturally decline, a process known as andropause or male menopause.

But men can experience relief of symptoms and recapture lost vitality with bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.

A blood test helps our doctors develop a customized treatment using bio-identical pellets.

The great thing about bioidentical hormones is that they are bio identical to hormones produced by our bodies, so they are metabolized in exactly the same way.

Don’t assume it’s age, dude.

Why would you do that?

You can get help. Feel good again. Stop caring so much about who’s on your lawn. Feel virile.

That’s a great word, isn’t it? Virile.

Virile is better than old any day.

Hormones for Holiday Curmudgeons

Jerry was 49 when he finally realized he had to do something to get his vitality back. He used to really enjoy the holidays—spending extra time with his kids, getting together with friends and family, and taking that annual ski trip with his wife. Then a transformation took place. He became the Christmas curmudgeon. He just didn’t have the energy or enthusiasm to fulfill any of the holiday expectations. Holidays aside, he was constantly fatigued, irritable, depressed and just plain miserable.
“Most days I went home after work and collapsed on the couch. I was too tired to do anything but veg. I stopped working out because I couldn’t find the motivation. And forget about intimacy. The desire had simply disappeared. My wife and family got less and less from me. I felt if I didn’t do something I was going to lose it all.”

Low Testosterone Takes a Toll

Testosterone production diminishes gradually over time. Men begin to lose an estimated 1% of this important hormone per year beginning in their mid-30s to early 40s. The mental and physical changes due to this loss are barely evident at this stage. However, by the time a man is Jerry’s age, low testosterone can take a noticeable toll on quality of life.

That’s because testosterone is a man’s most vital hormone and, working together with other important hormones, helps regulate many crucial physical, mental and emotional functions, such as:

• Libido & sex drive
• Bone mass
• Muscle mass
• Strength
• Fat distribution
• Sperm production
• Red blood cell production
• Concentration & mental acuity
• Mood
• Sleep
• Energy levels
• And other vital functions.

The Importance of Testosterone Replacement

Research has shown that testosterone replacement therapy can provide many health benefits for men with low testosterone.1,2 Likewise, many of the symptoms of this hormone deficiency are highly treatable and even reversible by restoring physiologic testosterone levels. For the future, treating hormone deficiencies–especially estradiol in women and testosterone in men—may become an essential part of healthy aging.

Jerry was lucky. His wife had been receiving SottoPelle® hormone replacement (pellet implant method) for her perimenopause symptoms for several years. He could see the difference it made for her and decided to see if it could help him.

“She convinced me I should try it, and that’s when I knew I couldn’t stay miserable forever. I can’t put into words the difference it’s made! The results have been no less than remarkable. I can’t figure out why I waited so long to get my life back.”

Properly Administered Testosterone Replacement Is Imperative

Testosterone replacement is widely available today but most methods have big drawbacks. And, unfortunately, physicians who are expert in the administration of this powerful hormone are rare. For your health and safety, make certain you are in the hands of a skilled specialist who uses the bioidentical pellet implant method. It is proven to be the safest, most effective and convenient hormone delivery system available.

SottoPelle® has specialized in BHRT using the pellet method longer than most. Our founder, Dr. Gino Tutera, developed a proprietary method for diagnosing, dosing and implantation that makes us a leader in our field. We have a long history of success when it comes to balancing hormones and helping people take control of their health. In fact, we are honored to say that, according to Ranking Arizona, an annual consumer publication by AZ Big Media, our patients have voted us Arizona’s #1 Hormone Therapy Clinic in 2015.

Can Hormone Replacement Therapy Help with Andropause Symptoms?

While women are well aware of the fact that they will someday enter into menopause, many men are unaware of andropause.

Testosterone is classified a steroid hormone in the Androgen group. The decline of testosterone is known as Andropause, sometimes referred to as the male version of Menopause. Beginning at 30, a man’s body makes less and less testosterone and around 40-55 the levels drop dramatically. The most common complaint is low sexual desire or libido and any man that has erectile dysfunction should get his testosterone checked. The decline in testosterone can also make it more difficult to conceive a child. Men may also start to have signs and symptoms of lower testosterone levels like lower energy, decreased muscle mass and bone density, and anemia. Low testosterone levels have also been associated with increased cardiovascular risk, mortality and increases in bad cholesterol.

  • Brain Fog
  • Dry Skin
  • Diabetes
  • Decreased Muscle Mass
  • Anxiety
  • Low Sexual Desire
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Headaches
  • Depression Fatigue / Low Energy

When properly administered, the pellet delivery system provides safe and effective BHRT. In fact, it remains the only form of delivery that closely mirrors what the human ovary and testicle do. This method ensures the same steady, around-the-clock, low dosages the body once created. You won’t have to change patches, rub on creams, or remember to take a pill. And you won’t experience the radical surges and drops in blood levels as with other methods. Pellet implants even deliver more when the body needs it—like during exercise or periods of stress.

1. Right Amount of Hormones
Creams, pills and patches all deliver wildly, inconsistent amounts of hormones unnaturally released into the body that does not mimic how the body naturally delivers hormones. Pellet delivery system is consistent and ongoing as the body requires it. You don’t have to worry about taking a pill, or a patch falling off, or a million other factors that make creams, pills, and patches an unreliable way to deliver hormones. Pellets remain the only delivery system that provides steady blood serum levels over time.

2. Simple Safe Pellet Insertion
Once inserted, a steady, low dose of natural hormone flows directly into the blood stream whenever the body needs it. This gives the body the ability to control the release of the hormone just as it did when the ovaries and testicles were working normally. Our method utilizes our proprietary dosing site, BioCalc (patent pending) to prescribe the precise hormones, specifically for your needs.

3. Promote and Preserve Bone Density
As we age and our hormone levels shift dramatically, maintaining normal bone density becomes critical to good health. Fluctuating levels of estrogen and testosterone decrease bone strength and increase the chance of fractures. Women who undergo premature surgical menopause also remain at greater risk of developing osteoporosis, making it critical to check their hormone levels. Demonstrated by the four-fold increase in bone density over oral estrogen, 2.5 times greater than patches and 8.3% per year for pellet therapy.

Why Use Bioidentical Hormones?

Conventional male hormonal treatments are administered by injections or rubbing gels in or onto your body. Commonly, these treatments use synthetic hormones that are not real hormones, but rather imperfect mimics of natural hormones. There can be many side effects from using these products and they can end up creating as many symptoms as they relieve. The one size fits all solution from big pharmaceutical companies do not properly adjust the ratios of hormones nor provide a natural delivery method into the body.

Millions of men are suffering and trying pharmaceutical drugs to regain their sex drive and clear up their brain fog without realizing that bio-identical hormones are even an option. Bio-identical hormones have been studied extensively and safely used since 1935, without the negative side effects that synthetics have been known to produce.

4 Reasons Pellet BHRT Is the Most Effective and Safest Method Available

If you’ve tried other methods of hormone replacement therapy—for instance pills, patches, creams, gels, suppositories or others—you know they can be inconvenient, messy and pose other issues. Dosing can be tricky too. Oral methods mean you have to take high doses of hormones in order to attain proper blood levels; dosing schedules can get complicated; using gels and creams can result in too much or too little hormone and so on.
Pellet implants, on the other hand, provide biologically identical hormones in a way the body recognizes and can utilize. What makes them so effective are the consistent blood levels of bioavailable hormones. Also, the dosing can be individualized to your own body’s needs. And they last longer than any other hormone replacement method.

Here are 4 Reasons Pellet BHRT Is the Most Effective and Safest Method Available:

1) Pellet BHRT has been prescribed since the 1930s
Hormone replacement using the pellet delivery method (subcutaneous implants) has been widely available for more than three-quarters of a century. In fact, beginning in the early 1940s, it became a very popular HRT treatment in the U.S. for about 30 years. Then, in the 1970s, pharmaceutical manufacturers introduced their newly developed and patented synthetic hormones. Shrewd marketing convinced the public, the medical establishment and the FDA to accept these new drugs as healthy and efficacious despite the long list of side effects, warnings and health risks. That being said, subcutaneous implants have remained accepted and commonly prescribed in Europe, Australia and other parts of the world.

2) Research supports the pellet implant hormone delivery system
Since the early 1940s, reports have appeared in a wide range of respected international journals validating the many benefits of pellet HRT. In fact, there is more supportive data on this method than any other form of hormone replacement therapy. The longevity of this science-based modality attests to the fact that, when properly managed, it is scientifically recognized as the safest and most effective method available for administering hormone replacement therapy. 1,2,3,4

3) Pellets are made from natural plant sources and are biologically identical to human hormones
The bioidentical hormones in pellets are made from either wild yam or soybeans. They are manufactured to the highest quality standards by facilities that are registered and inspected by the FDA. The hormones are formulated to precisely match human hormones. In other words, bioidenticals are able to fully communicate with receptor cells throughout the body and perform the many important tasks it requires. This isn’t the case with synthetic hormones, which can accomplish some tasks but not all. The intended imperfection of these formulations is the reason that synthetics can be patented, but also why they can cause havoc within the body and why they are required by the FDA to come with warnings about side effects and serious health risks.

4) Pellet implants use very small doses of hormone
Pellets are designed to release small amounts of hormone directly into the blood stream around the clock over a period of months (typically they last 3 to 6 months). This very closely matches the body’s own feedback system for releasing hormones and provides the steady, physiologic blood levels the body is used to.

Because pellets don’t have to pass through the gastrointestinal system or liver, smaller doses can be used to accomplish successful results. This makes pellet implants a much healthier alternative than oral methods like pills, tablets or capsules, which must be given in high doses to achieve any results at all.  Click here to learn more about SottoPelle BHRT Pellets.

Need a Valentine’s Day Romance Enhancer?

How’s your love life these days? Is the idea of Valentine’s Day romance just another reminder of how uninspiring it’s become? Perhaps your sex drive isn’t what it used to be? Or you’re having trouble getting aroused, achieving erections or experiencing satisfactory orgasms? As disturbing as these things are, you are not alone. It happens to nearly all men and women at some point in their aging process. In fact, your grandparents and parents likely accepted their lagging interest in sex as just a part of getting older.
They were right. Key hormones (testosterone and estradiol) regulate our sex lives. The aging body can no longer produce adequate amounts of these important messengers. The symptoms you are experiencing are common signs of the hormone deficiency that accompanies the aging process.

The good news is you don’t have to suffer with it! A simple blood test and the right bioidentical hormone replacement (BHRT) can rejuvenate your love life and more.

Valentine’s Day Romance

It’s important to know that your need for beneficial levels of these vital hormones never goes away. Actually, there are receptor cells throughout your entire body where each performs important tasks. When hormones are deficient or lacking, it negatively impacts many body functions. That’s why effective BHRT not only eliminates symptoms, but also helps improve libido, energy, memory, brain function, sleep, heart health, bone health and more. But not all BHRT is the same. In fact, most methods cannot provide the hormonal balance needed for long term health benefits.

The key to achieving hormonal balance is using a treatment that:

1) Is proven safe and effective
2) Utilizes low dose bioidentical hormones not synthetics
3) Employs a method that delivers bioavailable hormones 24/7 for months at a time
4) Can deliver more hormone when the body needs it
5) Is administered by an expert in hormone replacement

SottoPelle® BHRT is just that therapy. We are pioneers and leaders in our field. For decades we have helped thousands of men and women rekindle their love lives and regain the vitality they thought was lost forever.

Put the romance back in your life. Schedule a consultation with SottoPelle® today.

Is Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Trick or Treat?

Are you spooked by recent reports citing the supposed dangers of hormone therapy? Don’t be tricked by all the confusing or conflicting articles that will succeed in scaring the dickens out of you, but fail to distinguish between the two very different types of HRT – the beneficial kind and the harmful variety. In fact, we’ve got a treat in store for you with some good news about why the right dose of beneficial hormones can actually help women, and not harm them.
The array of alarming hormone reports online and in print are often scary and widely accepted as the gospel truth, but many of the things written are out of context or not based on all the facts.

Like scenes from a cult horror flick, these reports continue like bad sequels replaying the same familiar demons from years ago. The Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) issued its first report on the dangers of synthetic hormone therapy a long time ago. Now this ghost haunts once again as the dated scare script rears its ugly head with yet another claim this month about the health hazards of hormone therapy.

What these reports fail to ever mention is that there are TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT types of hormone therapies – the natural benign bio-identical kind (BHRT) and the synthetic pharmaceutical type (HRT) causing symptoms.

Think of it like the two witches in the Wizard of Oz – the wicked one being the hazardous hormones and then there’s the good witch, the bio-identical benefactor. With the wave of a wand, one can threaten your well-being while the other can bestow health blessings.

Seems simple enough, but why don’t more people understand or explain this basic difference?

A lack in patient education on the hormone facts, so we’re stepping up this Halloween to set the record straight and put these ghosts to rest. We’ll also give you a goodie for your hormone trick or treat bag… because we believe women don’t need to be scared just informed.

This Halloween when your hormones are brewing, what is missing from your goody bag – the health benefits of natural bio-identical hormones.

Keep in mind that most articles and blogs are usually focused on the synthetic kind of hormones (HRT) – the bad witch – and will try to scare the dickens out of you — but we got your back. The fact is that bio-identical hormones (BHRT) – the good witch – is perfectly safe without any of the harmful side effects associated with the synthetic hormones in the WHI report.

So, yes, the WHI is right in that synthetic hormones are harmful for you. They just forgot to mention the potential benefits of the natural bio-identical ones that are backed by scientific studies showing their safety and effectiveness.

Consequently, a well-researched report in The New York Times, “Avoiding Estrogen Therapy Proved Deadly for Nearly 50,000 Women,” echoes Dr. Tutera’s longtime concerns. The article notes that according to a report in the American Journal of Public Health by researchers at the Yale School of Medicine, “the widespread rejection of all hormone replacement therapies among menopausal women has been misguided” since the WHI warnings against HRT were issued in 2002.

In other words, since all forms of hormone therapy were improperly black labeled as harmful as a result of the WHI findings in 2002, an estimated 50,000 women died prematurely from 2002-2009 “because they did not use estrogen” after hysterectomies. Could BHRT have saved some lives? We also wonder how many uncounted women suffered from heart attacks, dementia, and other ailments associated with lack of estrogen.

That is a spooky statistic for women. But, Dr. Tutera has exciting news for you.

BHRT’s potential benefits are now documented in Dr. Tutera’s 10-year study titled “Marked reduction of breast, endometrial and ovarian cancer in users of bio-identical estradiol and testosterone subcutaneous pellets.” The results have been published in two prestigious medical publications – SEMAL, an international anti-aging medical journal [Sept. 2014], and Maturitas, a U.S. peer-reviewed scientific journal in 2009. This research shows that his pellet method of estradiol and testosterone therapy offers protection against the development of several forms of cancer.

We think that’s not only exciting news, but worthy of worldwide headlines.

In his study, Dr. Tutera concludes:

The Women’s Health Initiative incorrectly implied that all estrogen increases the development of breast cancer after three years. This inaccurate assumption prompted women to discontinue all forms of hormone therapy and suffer the ravages of menopause and possibly increase their risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, dementia and many other diseases.

The present retrospective study was done to prove that the usage of bio-identical estradiol, testosterone and micronized progesterone did not increase the incidence of breast, endometrial and ovarian cancer. The study affirmed that the re-creation of the normal physiologic hormonal environment through the usage of subcutaneous estradiol and testosterone pellets imparts a protective effect against the development of breast, endometrial and ovarian cancer.

Furthermore, the usage of subcutaneous estradiol and testosterone pellets should be encouraged because of the positive effects seen on bone density [8.3% growth per year], the lack of adverse impact on serum lipids, the lack of adverse effect on cardiovascular health and superior control of the symptoms associated with the menopause.

Adding more goblins to the hormone scare is another report issued this month by The Endocrine Society with its clinical guidelines for androgen therapy in women, claiming that there is insufficient research or evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of testosterone therapy. Huh? More hormone horrors? Tell that one to the thousands of female SottoPelle® patients thriving on testosterone around the globe.

In response, Dr. Tutera provides the following facts backed by their accompanying research studies:

Once again we are being misled; the lack of knowledge about the young females need for testosterone is a physiologic fact. The daily production of testosterone by premenopausal women from ovarian and adrenal sources is 300 mg daily, not weekly or annually (Abraham et al J Clin Endo Metab.1974:39:340-346). The assays that we are all using do not reflect this value. In fact all of the assays have been shown to be inaccurate, unreliable, and insensitive and only have value in assessing the male patient as they lose their accuracy below a level of 300 ng/dL. (Lobo et al Fert Sterility, 2004 :44,& Clinical Chemistry 2005). J W W Studd stated in his work published in Meno Intl., 2010, that premenopausal women carry testosterone levels ten times the level of estrogen. Furthermore, the majority of testosterone loss occurs in the early reproductive years (Davison et alJ Clin Endo Metab 2005:90:3847-3853), and that by age 40 normal premenopausal women have lost at least half of their testosterone production (Zumoff et al J Clin Endo Metab1995: 80:1429-1430).

Why then are we being told that the use of testosterone is only for hypoactive sexual disorder when in fact denying young women this important hormone increases the risk of bone loss, muscle loss, loss of function in the parietal, temporal and frontal lobes of the brain, and finally loss of normal metabolic rate necessary for normal physiologic function? How many of us have young women in their 30’s and beyond that complain of brain fog, loss of muscle, increasing fat deposition, and sexual libido loss and yet their lab levels reflect normality? We must realize that what we have considered and been told is normal is truly not normal and that the range of normal testosterone needs to be adjusted to reflect the true normal production of testosterone for women which is more accurately reflected as above 70 ng/dL. This better reflects the true production of a normal young woman of 300mg daily.

Perhaps it should be noted that researchers in these recent studies have admitted that some of the funding for this study was provided by drug companies. Hmmm… toss that in the loaded trick or treat bag.
