Mara Melamed Dubnow, MD is a proactive OB/GYN Physician who is passionate about providing quality healthcare to women.
Dr. Dubnow studied Molecular and Cellular Biology and graduated Magna Cum Laude at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2015. In 2019, she completed her medical degree and graduated as a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, having held the positions of Clinical Skills Teaching Assistant and Human Body Anatomy Course Teaching Assistant while in medical school.
She completed her post-graduate residency training at the University of Chicago Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program where she was the OB/GYN Wellness Chief to improve the emotional and physical well-being of residents to increase happiness and focus. She has completed various selective rotations at Valleywise Health Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona to gain a better understanding of patient populations and post-residency options.
Dr. Dubnow has several volunteer experiences and has played multiple roles at various medical projects. She served as the Women’s Service Line Patient Experience Strategies at Northshore Evanston Hospital where she helped to improve patient experience. She also served on the board at New Life Volunteering Society, a free medical clinic in Chicago, for 6 years as the Executive Board President, Senior Advisor, and Fundraising Chair.
Dr. Dubnow has participated in several research projects at the University of Chicago, Department of OB/GYN which includes the prominent research project ‘Assessing Outcomes for Diabetes in Pregnancy’ where she took part in an IRB-approved retrospective study to evaluate the impact of a combined diabetes and obstetric clinic on pregnant women with a diagnosis of pre-existing diabetes on obstetric and neonatal outcomes.
Dr. Dubnow is a Chicago marathon runner, a lover of Bengal cats and Australian Shepherd dogs, and has 20 years of expertise in Karate. She is now looking forward to hiking across the state of Arizona.
