Mayra Solis is a culturally competent and diverse family nurse practitioner who seeks to deliver compassionate individual and family care to those in need. She is passionate about women’s healthcare and has exceptional verbal communication skills that aid her in educating patients on acute and chronic health conditions.
In September 2009, Mayra obtained a Medical Assistant Certificate and in April 2016, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brookline College, Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently enrolled for a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner at Grand Canyon University, Phoenix and it is slated to end in April 2023.
Mayra has several relevant work experiences in the field of women’s healthcare. At Adelante Healthcare, Suprise, Arizona, she worked as a Back Office Medical Assistant where she worked closely with physicians during women’s healthcare visits, administered injections, urinalysis and HCG tests, spirometry tests and EKG interpretations. At the Progressive Care Unit of Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Glendale, Arizona, she worked as a Telemetry Registered Nurse where she was responsible for all aspects of nursing care for 4-5 high acuity adult and geriatric patients, cared for heart postoperative patients, assessed and monitored patients’ status which includes carrying out nursing care plans to ensure high-quality care. She also collaborated with physicians, respiratory therapists and nursing assistants to provide a team approach to healthcare.
Most recently, Mayra worked as an Assistant Director of Nursing at South Mountain Post Acute – Phoenix, Arizona, where she was responsible for monitoring nursing staff and providing patient care. She worked closely with providers to review new patients, assess diagnoses, formulate care plans and communicate the care plans to patients and their families. She also provided clinical audits, pharmacy audits and nursing staff in-service.
Her license and certifications include Active RN License in Arizona, Basic Life Support for healthcare providers, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and NIH Stroke Certification.
Mayra has strong interpersonal skills and can work closely and effectively with team members, she is excellent at multitasking and can perform well in high-stress environments and busy clinics.
