Dr. Jeffrey Puretz is the medical director for Women’s Care Florida in Lakeland. He received his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton in biology and psychology. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Puretz moved to Buffalo, New York, for his residency in obstetrics and gynecology, where he served as chief resident. He has been practicing medicine in Lakeland, Florida, since 1992. His interests and specialties include general obstetrics, prenatal care and delivery, general gynecology and infertility, menopause and hormone replacement therapy, weight loss and nutrition, abnormal bleeding and in-office surgery.
Dr. Puretz is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is also a member of the Polk County Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, North American Menopause Society and an accredited member of the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine.
Dr. Puretz is a past chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Since 2001, he has been a volunteer physician at Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine, which provides free medical and surgical care to indigent and uninsured patients.
