Tracy Adkins, ARNP, is the founder of Jivana, an integrated skincare line that fuses the power of modern active skincare ingredients and ayurvedic botanicals.
Tracy Adkins’, ARNP career began in modern medicine, where she started as a nurse in cardiology before making a transition to women’s health. She has been an NCC board-certified women’s healthcare nurse practitioner for over 20 years.
Aside from her job in medicine, Tracy Adkins, ARNP, has been a life-long fitness enthusiast. After several running injuries, she discovered the restorative benefits of yoga, and it has been her go-to practice for movement, strength, and clarity of mind since 2009.
It was her appreciation for yoga that inspired Tracy Adkins, ARNP, to study the ancient practice deeper, leading her to become a yoga teacher under the guidance of a Buddhist master and getting introduced to Ayurveda in 2012. In 2017, she became a NAMA- certified Ayurvedic practitioner with over 4,000 hours of advanced education.
Her Ayurvedic studies combined with years of experience in modern medicine made Tracy Adkins, ARNP, think of ways in which we can incorporate the wisdom of Ayurveda into our lifestyles – from the food we eat to movement, breathwork, skincare, and daily therapies. For Tracy Adkins, ARNP, the allopathic medicine she practices as a nurse is not the opposite of Ayurveda’s holistic approach. They complement each other to provide better-balanced solutions to modern-day wellness.
Integrating this philosophy into her own life provided Tracy Adkins, ARNP, with a balanced approach to wellness for herself and in raising her five daughters. That inspired her to create a skincare line fusing the powers of Ayurvedic botanicals and modern skincare activities.
Tracy Adkins, ARNP, new brand, Jivana, which means “to give life” in Sanskrit, offers a collection of skincare products rooted in Ayurvedic tradition and aligned with the three principal energies of the body – Doshas. Each of the brand’s products has been made to cater to the specific concerns associated with each type of skin or has been formulated with tridoshic ingredients, such as Tridosha Ghee Balm, which is suitable for all three constitutional types – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
In addition to Jivana, Tracy Adkins, ARNP, currently works at Seven at River Prairie in Altoona, WI as a nurse practitioner providing BHRT, IV therapy, and aesthetic services.
