Erica R. Balthrop completed her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Chicago in 1987. She attended graduate school at Western Kentucky University and completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at Finch University in 1996. Dr. Balthrop completed her Residency in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cook County Hospital in 2000.
Dr. Balthrop has been providing healthcare to women in Clarksdale, Mississippi and its surrounding area since August 2000. Dr. Balthrop is an experienced and highly skilled physician with 19 years of experience in the Ob/Gyn field. She performs a wide range of in-office tests including pap smears, pelvic and breast exams, diagnostic lab work, screening mammograms, ultrasounds, cryotherapy, colposcopies, and endometrial biopsies. A large portion of Dr. Balthrop’s practice is focused on monitoring and treating expectant mothers during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. Dr. Balthrop also spends a fair amount of time in the operating room, performing both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Dr. Balthrop is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
