Kaela Thurman MSN, APRN, FNP-C, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She received her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
In 2017, she opened Care First Walk-In Clinic, a primary care clinic with some urgent care services, in the community where she resides. Kaela has worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Room, Urgent Care and Primary Care. She has over ten years of experience in the Emergency Room and has served as a Nursing Supervisor and Nursing Educator at a Level II Trauma Center
Kaela is currently in the process of becoming a certified Functional Medicine provider through the Institute of Functional Medicine. She has started an additional practice, Resiliency Functional Wellness, where she looks forward to providing new services and a truly patient-centered model of care.
In addition to her role as a clinical Nurse Practitioner, Kaela currently serves as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing. She is the wife of a Leander Firefighter, Jason Thurman and mom to Lane, 3, Ruby, 1 and is expecting her third child at the beginning of 2020.
