Michael Glass, MD
Dr. Michael Lee Glass is from Holdenville, Oklahoma, did his undergraduate work at the University of Oklahoma, and is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Obstetrics and Gynecology. His entire career of 38 years in private practice has been in Edmond, Oklahoma.
In March of 2009, Dr. Glass restricted his practice to Gynecology to focus on Robotic Surgery for women and other health concerns of the non-pregnant woman. Most recently, he has sought to better define the role of hormone replacement for his patients and sought out Dr. Gino Tutera and SottoPelle® for a comprehensive approach to hormone replacement in the 21st century. Dr. Glass is a certified proctor for Intuitive Surgical regarding robotic surgery, has taught over 250 surgeons in over 400 cases on using the robot in their practices, has assisted on well over 1200 cases and performed over 400 surgical cases of his own patients. Those cases include hysterectomies, adnexal procedures, resection of endometriosis, large fibroid tumors both in hysterectomy and myomectomy, and sacrocolpopexy and sacrocervicopexy.
He has been Program Director for Lakeside Women’s Hospital and now serves as Robotics Director at OU-Edmond Medical Center. That program has grown to include gynecology, urology and general surgery/colorectal surgery. As for hormonal replacement therapy, Dr. Glass has been a speaker for numerous groups regarding transdermal hormone replacement and is a vocal supporter for hormone replacement for women. In collaborating with Dr. Tutera, he finds that pellet therapy for hormones, and SottoPelle® in particular, offers women the premier method for living a healthy and active life, with fewest side effects, and with some big advantages in several facets of their lives. For more information on SottoPelle® Pellet Therapy and Robotic Surgery, please visit his website at www.drglassgyn.com, and the websites https://www.sottopelletherapy.com, and http://www.intuitivesurgical.com. At Michael Glass MD, physicians and staff will always endeavor to render current, compassionate care to our patients, remembering to listen first, educate always, and involve our patients in their healthcare decisions. Now, what does that all mean…
From that first office visit, we want you to know we care about you and what you think and feel. We encourage questions and participation in your care. If we don’t readily offer literature, websites or instructions for procedures or concerns, please ask.
Our staff and physicians constantly update their training to offer you the best of those new and “tried-and-true” methods to improve your health. That means keeping current in the latest surgical techniques, updating our awareness of screening tests, and offering a wide-based arsenal of support professionals for all your health needs. The physicians maintain a fulltime call coverage of like-qualified physicians to be available at all times should your physician be unavailable.
We all feel that a better life is a direct result of preventing illnesses whenever possible rather than just treating problems when they arise. We will encourage exercise, proper diet and rest, medications where necessary, smoking cessation, and routine disease screening to support a healthy lifestyle always.
