Dr. Sekine is a board certified Ob-Gyn, who has been in private practice since 1981. He has transitioned over the years, with his patients, from pre pregnancy care, through their child bearing years, and into the life changing, menopausal years. Always believing that the changes and symptoms associated with menopause (ovarian failure) were pathologic, and not physiologic, in other words, not what one must live with, he has prepared for these times.
Dr. Sekine embraced the Sottopelle® approach to treating women and men, after completing a course with Dr. Gino Tutera, the world renown founder of the organization. Dr. Sekine received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Queens College of the City University of New York. He attended medical school at the Universidad Autonoma of Guadalajara, Mexico, and received his OB-GYN training at the University of Florida Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Jacksonville. He has been board certified in the specialty since 1984, and recertifies annually. Dr. Sekine has extensive experience in gynecologic surgery, including Robotic Surgery, and urogynecological surgery for female urinary conditions, and pelvic floor prolapse.
After 33 years of delivering babies, Dr. Sekine will focus his skills on gynecology only, starting in March, 2014. Dr. Sekine founded North Florida Hormone Therapy, speicalizing in female pre-menopause, menopause, and male andropause. Dr. Sekine is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Florida Medical Association. Dr. Sekine is an Associate Clinical Instructor for the Department of Ob-Gyn, University of Florida, Jacksonville.
