Alex Clavijo, MD, is an obgyn who practices in Feather Sound, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and at Palm Harbor.
He is a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Women’s Care in the Clearwater, Florida area. His special interests include caring for pregnant patients, treating abnormal uterine bleeding, and performing ultrasounds and minimally invasive surgery including robotics.
After growing up in suburban Atlanta, Dr. Clavijo moved to New York City to attend undergraduate college at NYU, where he studied anthropology and chemistry. He attended the University of Virginia for medical school and then moved to El Paso, Texas, to complete his ob-gyn residency, where he practiced the Spanish language. During training, Dr. Clavijo led projects to decrease blood loss during delivery and learned best practices for patience during labor. He was an active participant in the Texas American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Outside of work, Dr. Clavijo enjoys spending time with his wife and tuxedo cat, Benny, as well as outdoor activities including biking, running, kayaking, and spending time at the beach. He also loves to cook and make homemade sourdough bread. Dr. Clavijo is excited to explore the Tampa Bay area.
