Dr. Kristin S. Black is board certified in Family Practice and is licensed in the states of North Carolina and South Carolina. She’s a graduate of Cornell University (with Human Development and Family Studies degree), received her MD from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, and studied at Harvard University as an Arthur Ashe Fellow. Dr. Black completed her residency in Family Practice at Carolinas Medical Center where she won awards for Outstanding Family Practice and Community Service. She has trained extensively in pediatrics, gynecology and internal medicine.
During her training as a practicing physician she has also been committed to providing care to the indigent and underserved. Dr. Black’s special interests include Women’s Health (including Bioidentical Hormone Replacement), Adolescent Health, Weight Loss and Nutritional Modalities, Diabetic Management and Alternative Medicine. Throughout her school years, residency and employment, Dr. Black has maintained an active role in the communities where she has lived and worked.
Dr. Black currently sits on the boards of numerous organizations. She is widely known for her community talks on Adolescent issues, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Health, and HIV. Truly effective health management and medical treatment is achieved through communication, understanding and trust developed between a physician and a patient. Through our non-insurance based Direct Care Medical Services, we are able to offer patients greater access, time and flexibility of treatment as compared to traditional medical facilities. We specialize in the provision of: wellness exams, physicals, minor illness and monitoring of health conditions.
